Curriculum Vitæ
Alexander joined the Robotics and Embedded systems group as post-doctoral researcher and Coordinator of the
Master’s in Robotics, Cognition and Intelligence (M.Sc) in September 2017.
He was a Senior Lecturer at
Bristol Robotics Laboratory (UK) and Coordinator of the Bachelor Programme in Robotics (BEng) at the
University of the West of England, Bristol until August 2017. During his time in Bristol (2005 to 2017), Alexander worked on neuro-robotic systems, embedded adaptive control, human-robot interaction as well as autonomous vehicles. He has supervised numerous Bachelor, Master and PhD students and taught courses on electronic design, embedded systems (hardware and software) and robotic control as well as computer architecture design using VHDL. With a background in Microelectronics Engineering (Hochschule Trier, Dipl. Ing., 2001) and Intelligent Systems (M.Sc, University of the West of England,2002), a PhD in neuro-inspired robotic control using cerebellar algorithms (University of the West of England, 2011) as well as his industrial experience (automation systems and automotive software development), Alexander is keen to share his enthusiasm and expertise for robust, intelligent, real-world systems with students and colleagues alike.
