Organizer Artashes Mkhitaryan
Modul IN8901
Typ Hauptseminar
Semester SS 2012
ECTS 4.0
Time and Place Will be announced after May 20, 2012

The reports are due to 09/Sep/2012 (10 days after the presentation).

The first meeting will take place on Friday June 1st from 13:00-14:00 in TUM, Parkring 13, 85748 Garching-Hochbruk

Since there are only three students who signed up for the Dynamic Heart Modelling seminar, I think we can be flexible with the time schedule. I set up a doodle page, to determine when our first meeting will take place, please go to this: Doodle address and mark when it is best for you to have our first meeting (Note you can check multiple boxes), and don't forget to put your name in the appropriate box. Please do so within this week, preferably before Friday (25.05.2012), so I can announce when the meeting will take place on Friday.

Human heart modeling is one of the major research focuses for the reasons of diagnostics of cardiovascular diseases. It is a complex multidisciplinary subject, that covers computer vision, computational fluid dynamics, computational mechanics, e.t.c.. In this seminar you will learn about some of the advanced methods for human heart modelling, as well reviewing scientific works and presenting them. Basic knowledge of computer vision or computational mechanics depending on the topic, would serve as an advantage for participating students .

To participate in this seminar please send an Email to Artashes Mkhitaryan ( The email should contein the following information :

The deadline for the registration is May 20, 2012.

Each participating student is required to give a presentation on one of the above mentioned papers, The presentations should be 20-30 mins followed by 10 mins for questions and discussion. One week before the presentation date the draft of the presentation should be sent to Artashes Mkhitaryan (, if desired participating students can make a preliminary presentation, to get a better feeling for the final one. Presentations will be held in English. Additionally, the presenters need to write a summary of their talk. The resulting document should be 5-10 pages long and needs to be sent as a PDF document to the supervisor. Participating students are required to be present at all the presentations.
